@Greg: This is indeed troubling. A few months ago I started a post each time a pedestrian incident occurred with Muni. I didn’t think it would be a regular feature, but it has been a steady stream.
I’m not sure what is driving this recent spike in pedestrian deaths, but it seems to be getting worse, not better.
